Fire crews doused a suspected kitchen fire at a restaurant just south of Yonge and Dundas streets in downtown Toronto.

Fire crews got a call about the blaze at around 3:20 p.m. Thursday. Toronto fire services said they don't believe the fire originated at Mirvish Theatre as some early reports had suggested.

There was some smoke detected in an exhaust shaft, and a fire spokesperson suggested it might have originated from a kitchen, but could not say definitively.

The building was cleared because of smoke.

There are no reports of any injuries.
