Child pulled unconscious from Surrey pool

There has been another incident involving a child and a pool in Surrey.

BC Ambulance confirms that emergency crews were called to a home at the 9600 block of 129th street around 12:15 p.m. PT Monday for a "water-related incident."

The home's owner said he pulled a two-year-old girl from the pool, unconscious.

A spokesperson said both advanced life support and infant transport teams were dispatched and that she was transported to Surrey Memorial Hospital resuscitated, but in serious condition.

She was then transported to Children's Hospital in Vancouver.

This comes after the news of a tragic death of a two-year-old and the critical injury of his grandmother Sunday at an apartment pool in the Guildford area of Surrey, just a few kilometres away from Monday’s incident.

The boy apparently fell into the pool and his grandmother tried to rescue him. Both were in the pool when emergency personnel arrived.

The boy could not be revived.
