A 19-year-old man is under arrest as police investigate a fiery crash involving a stolen pickup truck in Burlington, Ont., on Tuesday evening.

Ontario Provincial Police said at 6:12 p.m. ET, an OPP officer tried to stop a pickup truck that was travelling westbound on the QEW near Guelph Line.

The officer turned on his emergency lights and siren, but the 19-year-old male driver, who was riding alone, did not stop, police said in a news release.

According to police, the man "began to drive in a dangerous manner" and travelled onto Brant Street and then the North Service Road.

The pickup truck eventually collided head-on with a sport-utility vehicle, and the truck caught on fire. Officers smashed the windows to remove the drivers from both vehicles.

The truck driver was arrested at the scene and several charges are pending.
