Broken main triggers South Shore water restrictions

A broken water main on Montreal's South Shore has triggered a drinking water restriction in several communities.

The City of Longueuil sent out a warning for residents in Longueuil, Brossard, Boucherville, St-Bruno and St-Lambert to limit their drinking water consumption for the next 16 hours.

City official say the problem, which originated in St-Lambert, is being repaired but won't be fully fixed until sometime overnight.

The municipality is also asking people not to water their lawns until the ban is lifted.
