Seasonal worker killed by lightning strike near St-Remi

A 64-year-old man was killed Tuesday night after he was hit by lightning while working in a St-Remi field.

The man, a seasonal worker from Guatemala, was picking lettuce at around 7:30 p.m. ET when he was struck, according to Quebec provincial police.

The man's colleagues witnessed the incident, but were not injured, police said.

The worker was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
