Laval ATV driver injured in police escape

A 31-year-old man was injured after police tried to stop his all-terrain vehicle in Laval overnight on Wednesday.

Police said the man was driving on a road in the Sainte-Rose neighbourhood when they tried to stop him.

The driver took off on his vehicle and sped through several mandatory stops before hitting another vehicle.

The ATV driver was seriously injured after falling from his vehicle but remains in stable condition at the hospital.

He will undergo further health examinations before answering to charges of impaired driving.

The driver in the other vehicle was not injured in the incident.
