Slain Toronto man died of stab wounds, police say

A post-mortem examination has determined that the city’s latest homicide victim died of stab wounds.

A male victim was found lying in a ditch on the west side of McCowan Road near the on-ramp to Highway 401 at about 2 a.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, Toronto police identified the victim as 22-year-old Nirosan Thillainathan.

Police made an arrest in the case hours after Thillainathan’s body was found.
