Montenegro beats 3-time defending Olympic champion Hungary 11-10 in water polo

LONDON - Montenegro dealt water polo powerhouse Hungary its second consecutive loss of the London Games, beating the three-time defending Olympic champion 11-10 helped by three goals from Drasko Brguljan.

Montenegro goalkeeper Milos Scepanovic denied Denes Varga's close-range shot as the buzzer sounded to preserve the win in a tight match between two medal contenders.

Hungary also dropped its opening match to gold medal-favourite Serbia, which was the country's first loss in men's water polo since the 2000 Sydney Games.

Tuesday's win provides a boost to Montenegro following the team's opening loss to the United States.
