Man charged in fatal fight involving nightclub patrons

York Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal fight involving patrons of a Vaughan nightclub.

Police were called to the parking lot of a plaza located at 8000 Highway 27 north of Highway 7 in the early hours of July 22.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found "several people engaged in a physical confrontation," all of whom were patrons of the Al-Finjan nightclub located in the plaza.

Police also located a Toronto man suffering from stab wounds. Evan Gorgees, 29, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

On Wednesday, police arrested Azize Sepan, 48, of Vaughan.

Sepan faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Gorgees’ death.

Sepan appeared in a Newmarket court on Thursday.
