York Regional Police raided a "body rub parlour" on Friday night where a 16-year-old girl had been working.

A detective with the force said the victim's family came to police after they had not seen her for several days. Police received information that she was working at the Blue Pearl Spa on Dufferin Street, near the Downsview Airport, and executed a search warrant.

They removed the girl and arrested two Toronto residents — the male owner of the spa and the female manager. They also executed a search warrant at the owner's home.

The man, 43, faces charges of living on the avails of a prostitute under the age of 18, procuring a person to become a prostitute, possession of proceeds of crime, and two charges of possession of a controlled substance. He appeared in a Newmarket court Saturday morning.

The woman is charged with living on the avails of a prostitute under the age of 18 and procuring a person to become a prostitute. She is due in court in four weeks.

The 16-year-old is from York region and a Canadian citizen, police said.

There were seven other women working at the spa. None were underage.
