3,000 expected to cross Lacolle border Sunday

Drivers returning home from the construction holiday should expect long wait times at many of Quebec's border crossings.

The Canadian Border Services Agency is expecting upwards of 3,000 people to cross at Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle.

Communications manager Dominique McNeely said all eight crossing lanes are open and will remain so until late Sunday evening.

The peak period is expected between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.

McNeely said more Canadians than usual have been crossing in to the U.S.
