Body found in B.C. may be missing canoeist

Police say a body found in the water near Oak Bay, B.C. on Sunday is likely that of a canoeist who went missing last month.

The body was discovered close to Tod Rock, approximately six kilometres southwest of Ten Mile Point, where two men were thrown into the water when their canoe capsized on July 6.

Officials said it was dark at the time and the men weren't wearing life jackets. Although a massive search was launched, only one man was rescued.

Police say no further information will be released about the body found on Sunday until the B.C. Coroners Service completes its investigation.
