REGINA - The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission has proposed a new electoral map for Saskatchewan that would see change in every riding.

The biggest difference would be the creation of strictly urban ridings in Regina and Saskatoon.

The commission is proposing to redraw the map and establish two exclusively urban ridings in Regina and three in Saskatoon.

Under the current boundaries, which have been in place since 2004, Regina and Saskatoon ridings also include rural areas surrounding the cities.

The commission says the proposed changes take into account Saskatchewan's growing population and movement within the province.

The overall number of ridings would remain at 14.
