The rainfall that has hit Toronto over the last several days has kept city crews busy, with about 110 storm-related calls coming in from residents since Friday morning.

Frank Trinchini, manager of contact services for Toronto Water, said there are extra workers on to deal with the problems.

"We actually have about four times the number of staff in today than we would normally have in on a Saturday," he said. "And we will continue to have staff available to respond until we catch up on all these calls."

A downpour in the city's east on Friday caused several problems, including at least one large sinkhole and a tree that hit a house after it was felled by lightning.

The rain has also kept the Taste of the Danforth festival soggy, and caused several delays at the Rogers Cup tennis tournament.
