Gun fired in alleged Oakville home invasion, police say

Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged home invasion in Oakville, while two others suspects are still being sought.

Two masked men allegedly forced their way into a Speers Road apartment at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, according to Halton Regional Police.

Police said three people were inside the apartment when the male suspects entered.

One of the suspects had a shotgun. The weapon was discharged during the incident, which left one of the people inside the apartment with minor injuries.

Police say the suspects who entered the apartment “fled the residence into an awaiting vehicle and took with them an assortment of property.”

Two men from Oakville were later arrested. They are each facing robbery-related charges and are due to appear in a Milton court on Monday.

Police said they are still seeking two outstanding suspects, including one who may be in possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Staff Sgt. Murray Drinkwalter told CBC News police are urging these remaining suspects to contact legal counsel and make arrangements for their surrender.
