The brands are Highline Mushrooms and Compliments sliced white mushrooms, sold in 227 gram containers bearing a lot code: L4100805 and a best before date of 12AU15.
According to the CFIA website, the mushrooms were distributed in Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces.
No illnesses have been reported related to the mushrooms.
The agency stresses that Listeria-contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled, but eating food contaminated with these bacteria may cause listeriosis, a food-borne illness.
Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea and is of particular concern for pregnant women, the elderly and anyone with a weakened immune system.
