The story of Buck the dog has inspired a strong reaction, and at least 25 offers of adoption.

Buck was taken to the Bide Awhile animal shelter in Dartmouth, N.S. after being shot in the head with 50 pellets.

Despite being blind in one eye as a result of the pellets, Darrold Gould, executive director Bide Awhile, said Buck the dog shows no other signs of abuse and has not lost his love of people.

After Buck's story appeared in the media, inquiries began flooding in.

The shelter says they have heard from people as far away as Ontario and British Columbia offering to adopt the dog.

The shelter is taking applications.

Officials say they want to make sure they find the right home for Buck.
