Scooters have been all the rage this summer and will surely stay on until fall. It’s obvious why they’re such a hit, they practically ooze nostalgia: summers in romantic cities like Rome and Paris—that European carefree-ness (think: Diane Lane in Under The Tuscan Sun). They are so popular here in Toronto, and they just must be catching on across Canada. Even better, they make everyone look fashionable. But the question I always ask myself when seeing these stylish scooter riders across town: how do you coordinate your outfits and avoid clashing with your favourite seasonal ride?
“Go with a colour that matches most of your wardrobe. People don’t normally match their entire outfits to their scooters, it’s a little over the top,” says Clyde Grey, general manager at specialty bike and scooter store in Toronto, Motoretta. He says dressing head-to-toe to match your scooter is pretty much taboo for avid bikers and that stylish buyers in the market for a new ride should choose a versatile colour that suits their entire wardrobe, making matching your day and night clothes really easy.
