Human remains found in North Vancouver

Mounties in North Vancouver, B.C., confirm human remains were found on Saturday evening.

Cpl. Richard De Jong says the remains were found in a wooded area near Curling and Capilano roads just after 6 p.m. PT.

The RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Service and B.C. Coroners Service are investigating, and De Jong said the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is being called out to assist.

De Jong said investigators would likely be on scene through the night Sunday because of the state of decomposition of the body.

De Jong said the person's identity has not been determined and it's not clear if the remains belong to a man or a woman.
