LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - An Alberta man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for threatening a 10-year-old boy.

Scott Eugene Conine, who is 29, was scheduled to stand trial last week on a charge of uttering threats.

Instead, he pleaded guilty to the charge in Lethbridge provincial court.

In March, a woman called police complaining about Conine's dogs running loose.

The next day he threatened her son and had words with her husband.

Conine will also be on probation for one year and was ordered to take counselling on how to control anger.
