Bradley Charles Joyce has been identified as the man who was killed while mountain climbing on Mount Robson, the B.C. Coroners Service said in a statement.
The 35-year-old man from Calgary, was an experienced mountaineer, the release states, and was climbing with a friend when a snow bridge he was crossing gave away. Joyce fell into a crevasse and was covered by a small avalanche while his friend, who was not injured, summoned for help.
This is the second mountain climbing accident in B.C. in the past week. Calgarian Richard Collier was killed last week while mountain climbing on Mount Geikie in Mount Robson Provincial Park. An activist and former NDP candidate, Collier was also an experienced climber and died when a rock face gave away.
The Coroners Service continues to investigate Joyce's death.
