Alleged robber caught after failing 4 times to get away

Toronto police say a man had trouble making his getaway from a robbery when he was unable to start a stolen vehicle.

Police allege the man committed a robbery on The Queensway on Tuesday, but was unable to start a vehicle he had stolen when he was trying to flee the scene.

The suspect then fled on foot and approached two separate women in an attempt to steal their vehicles, but failed to do so.

He then grabbed the arm of a man in a vehicle and demanded the vehicle.

Police were called and the suspect was subsequently captured.

Police say the man faces 32 criminal counts, which relate to robberies and offences committed in Toronto, as well as in Kitchener and Peel Region.

The 24-year-old accused male has no fixed address. He was due to appear in a Toronto court on Wednesday.
