Did the news of Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's engagement get their music stuck in your head?
Are you too ashamed to fire up Chavril's back-catalogue to get that blasted earworm out of your head?
Well, we've got a slightly more palatable solution to your problem. Motown!
We've written about the awesome covers of Nickelback songs done by New York City's Scott Bradlee and his band. But earlier this year, Bradlee and his band also did a cover of Lavigne's moving ballad to young love, "Sk8erboi."
"In the past year, I created two "A Motown Tribute to..." videos- one for Nickelback, and one for Avril Lavigne. Now, I fear I may be responsible for their union...," Bradlee posted on Reddit on Wednesday.
We are weirdly impressed that Bradlee covered not one, but two of Canada's finer musical exports.
Obviously, we're not the only ones. Bradlee and his band are playing this weekend at B.C.'s Live At Squamish Festival. If they're lucky they might even get to serenade the lucky couple with one of their covers.
