NARS Lauches Andy Warhol Collection: Holiday Looks With Iconic Prints

NARS Holiday Collection Gets Its 15 Minutes Of Fame

"In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes," Andy Warhol once said.

This holiday season, NARS is getting their 15 minutes of Andy fame with a new collection featuring some of his iconic prints and silkscreens.

The poppy palettes are named after some of the most well-known factory girls, like the Edie set -- named after Edie Sedgewick -- or the Silver Factory Set -- in honour of Andy's workspace from the 60s 'til the 80s. They feature memorable quotes from Warhol on the mirrors and the makeup is designed to look like some of his famous paintings.

For the Warhol Foundation, this is the biggest collaboration to date. There are two separate collections: the first will be released at Sephora in October; the second will launch in major department stores in November. Sephora's exclusive collection will be an ode to pop art and the department store line is in honour of the factory.

Francois Nars, founder and creative director of NARS, told Women's Wear Daily: "Andy said, ‘If everybody’s not a beauty, then nobody is.’ This is the same sentiment I wanted to bring to life with NARS -- a forward-thinking attitude toward beauty, and the encouragement to inspire self-expression, creativity and artistry in the women who wear it. It seemed like a natural fit to create a collection that Andy himself might have a hand in if he were alive today.”
