Police ID man killed in drive-by shooting in Surrey, B.C.

One man is dead after what appears to have been a gang-related drive-by shooting in Surrey, B.C. on Thursday night.

Police say Christopher Pammenter, 46, was shot in his vehicle in the driveway of his home on the 15800 block of 110 Avenue in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood just before midnight

"Pammenter is known to police and at this point it appears to be a targeted, gang-related shooting," said a statement released by police on Friday morning.

Surrey RCMP blocked off streets around the targeted house overnight and were not letting local residents out of their homes. Officers with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team have taken over the investigation.

A stretcher and an officer were stationed outside one home on the street for much of the night and a number of evidence markers could be seen on the pavement marking shell casings left on the road.
