SURREY, B.C. - A 46-year-old man has been killed in Metro Vancouver's latest targeted shooting.

Homicide detectives say Christopher Pammenter was shot to death at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

The incident occurred on the street in Surrey's Fraser Heights neighbourhood, east of Vancouver.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound says it appears Pammenter, who is known to police, was attacked as he sat in his vehicle in the driveway of his upscale home.

Pound says the shooting was targeted and likely gang-related, and officers are now going door-to-door in hopes of finding someone who may have witnessed the hit in the usually quiet neighbourhood.

There has been a spate of similar shootings in Metro Vancouver since mid-January, when 36-year-old Sandip Singh Duhre — a leader of the so-called Duhre group — was gunned down while sitting in a downtown Vancouver restaurant.
