Ronald Lavallee Assault Charges: Alberta Mountie Accused Of Using Excessive Force

HOBBEMA, Alta. - A Mountie in central Alberta has been charged with assault.

RCMP say the officer is accused of using excessive force while making an arrest in Hobbema.

Const. Ronald Lavallee of the Hobbema RCMP detachment has been charged with one count of common assault.

He is to appear in Wetaskiwin provincial court on Sept. 13.

Lavallee, a six-year veteran of the RCMP, is on medical leave.
