Toronto police report seizing guns in separate searches

Toronto police say they seized a loaded gun during a search of an apartment in the Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue area.

A news release indicates that police executed a search warrant on Monday, which involved members of the gun and gang task force and the emergency task force.

Police say that “a quantity of drugs, ammunition and a loaded 9mm handgun were seized” from a Keele Street apartment.

A 35-year-old Toronto man faces 10 drug- and firearm-related charges.

A gun was also seized by police on Friday, after officers stopped a vehicle that drove away from a home that was about to be searched in the Jane Street and Trethewey Drive area.

Two Toronto residents face firearm-related charges as a result of the gun seized Friday.

Police have made repeated appeals to the public this summer to help them locate illegal guns within the city.
