Fill hotdog buns with cheese, turkey and bacon for easy school lunch

Put some zing into school lunches with these honeyed turkey, bacon and havarti rolls. Hotdog buns are ideal for making sandwiches.

Be sure to put in a frozen pack or juice to keep sandwiches cool until lunch time.

Havarti Rolls

3 slices creamy havarti cheese

3 slices reduced-salt fully cooked bacon

3 slices extra-lean honey maple turkey breast

6 mini top-sliced hotdog buns

30 ml (2 tbsp) honey mustard

Cut cheese, bacon and turkey slices in half. Open buns slightly and press a piece of cheese into each bun so it covers inside of bun. Spread 5 ml (1 tsp) of the mustard into each bun. Place a piece of bacon into each bun. Fold each turkey slice in quarters and divide among buns.

Wrap and pack into a lunch box or serve immediately.

Makes 3 servings.
