Chantelle: Alberta Pastor In The Bachelor Canada Vies For Love

Alberta Pastor Vying For Love In The Bachelor Canada

It’s not exactly a geek flag, but whatever kind of flag it is, Albertans do fly it proudly.

And what better example is there than Alberta’s main contribution to the innaugural season of The Bachelor Canada, airing on Citytv and OMNI Television this fall.

Alberta girl Chantelle is not a Playboy model – no that’s Melissa Marie from Vancouver. She’s not a real estate agent – nope, that’s Rebecca from Toronto. Chantelle is a pastor from the central Alberta beach town of Sylvan Lake.

“I really enjoy preaching and doing humanity projects, both in my local communities and around the world,” Chantelle says in her biography.

The bubbly Alberta girl brings a lot of good intentions and wholesomeness but says she doesn't bring a lot of field experience.

“I have to admit, I haven’t dated too much, apart from the odd set-ups here and there. It’s challenging to find guys that respect what I do,” she says, adding she's eager to get going.

"I realize I’m really ready for love.”

The Alberta connections to the show don’t end there. Host Tyler Harcott, a Canadian actor and veteran television host, was born in Edmonton and raised in Calgary.

The Bachelor himself, Brad Smith, is a 28-year-old Quebec-born CFL free agent who spent the 2010-11 season as a wide reciever with the Edmonton Eskimos.
