TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,268.01 up 128.28points):

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Miner. Up eight cents, or 4.4 per cent, to $1.90 on 6,536,345 shares.

Eastern Platinum Ltd. (TSX:ELR). Miner. Unchanged at 19 cents on 5,999,413 shares.

Yellow Media (TSX:YLO). Directory publisher. Down one cent, or 11.76 per cent, at 7.5 cents on 4,944,411 shares.

Perseus Mining Ltd. (TSX:PRU). Miner. Up eight cents, or 3.01 per cent, at $2.74 on 4,615,828 shares.

Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (TSX:PTQ). Miner. Up four cents, or 6.90 per cent, 62 cents on 4,571,518 shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up 99 cents, or 2.59 per cent, at $39.27 on 4,521,117 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,276.71 up 18.41 points):

Bitterroot Resources Ltd. (TSXV:BTT). Up two cents, or 20 per cent, at 12 cents on 5,733,000 shares.

Aurcana Corp. (TSXV:AUN). Up one cent, or 0.93 per cent, at $1.09 on 3,217,547 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Lululemon Athlectica Inc. (TSX:LLL). Up $8.11, or 12.03 per cent, at $75.50 on 534,648 shares. The Vancouver-based company plans to open 35 corporate-owned stores plus two outlets in fiscal 2012, while noting that its e-commerce business is growing rapidly as well.

Garda World Security Corp. (TSX:GW). Up $2.74, or 29.78 per cent, at $11.94 on 1,187,307 shares. The company has agreed to be taken over in a $1.1-billion deal that would see the company taken private. Garda say a consortium formed by Stephan Cretier, its founder, chairman and CEO, and a subsidiary of funds advised by global private equity firm Apax Partners, is offering $12 per share in cash. That represents a 30 per cent premium over the closing price of the company's class A shares on Thursday and a 45 per cent premium to their 90-day weight average.
