Boy, 9, hit by car in Montreal North

A 9-year-old boy was struck by a car Saturday evening in Montreal North. He is currently fighting for his life in hospital.

The boy was cycling on Chartrand Street and tried to cross the Léger Boulevard before getting hit by the vehicle.

"This intersection has no traffic lights or stop sign," said Montreal police spokesman Daniel Fortier.

No one was arrested.
