Summer officially draws to a close as The Fair at Vancouver's Pacific National Exhibition wraps up on September 3.

Residents of the Lower Mainland have come from far and wide to attend the popular annual fair since it opened in 1910.

It wasn't until 1926 when a second amusement attraction, aptly named Happyland (now Playland), was added to the grounds.

Over the years, the Pacific National Exhibition has welcomed millions of people through its gates for amusement rides, arcade games, sporting events, and special exhibits.

This year, the Star Trek exhibit was a highlight among this year's offerings. Loyal fans flocked to the Pacific National Exhibition to see a 10-food replica of the Enterprise ship and various props and weapons from the series.

Seven unorthodox playhouses that were fixtures at this year's fair will be sold to corporate donors who will give them to various organizations across B.C., reports The Vancouver Sun.

The Huffington Post B.C. collected images and tweets of Vancouver's Pacific National Exhibition from different generations of fairgoers from 1941 to 2012. View our slideshow below.
