TIFF 2012: Toronto Film Festival Unofficially Kicks Off With Producers Ball And The SKYY Vodka Blue Alley Party

TIFF 2012 Has 'Unofficially' Kicked Off With Two Splashy Parties
Producer's Ball

While TIFF doesn't "officially" kick off until this evening, two swanky and swishy parties have already declared the festival open: the Producers Ball and SKYY Vodka's Blue Alley bash.

The Producers Ball packed some 600 people into the Shangri-La Hotel Toronto (one of the hottest places in the city to host an event), and raised funds for Paul Haggis' Artists for Peace and Justice. Hosted by Drew and Jonathan Scott (of 'Property Brothers'), the fête was littered with fashionable and famous Canadian faces, including George Stroumboulopoulos, Fefe Dobson, Jonash Chernick and Emily Hampshire.

A little further west, SKYY Vodka hosted a Moulin Rouge-meets-Cirque du Soleil outdoor soirée in an alleyway. Dubbed the "unofficial" kick-off to TIFF 2012, guests like Olympic Gold Medal Trampolinist Rosie MacLennan and actors Lyriq Bent, Gabrielle Reese and Tara Spencer-Nairn, sipped on festival-inspired cocktails while rocking some serious couture.
