Turning 175 is a milestone to celebrate. Which is exactly what happened at Holt Renfrew's Montreal location on Wednesday. During the special evening affair, guests sipped on bubbly while chatting about the history of the company; they were also treated to a runway show of Holts' fall collection.
"There are few companies that can boast 175 years," says Jocelyn Dumas, CEO of Holt Renfrew for Quebec, in front of guests. "What many people don't know is Holt Renfrew is from Quebec... The first store to open its doors in 1837 was in Quebec City!"
Several other events are planned to mark the luxury retailer's anniversary, including a mobile, cross-country pop-up shop tour and the development of a line of designer products in Holts' trademark magenta colour. The company also announced, today, they would be setting out some major expansion plans for stores come 2013.
