SURREY, B.C. - Investigators say a man shot to death while his wife and four-year-old son watched in Surrey, B.C., was known to police.

Jagdip Johal, a 37-year-old Delta resident, was killed Thursday while sitting in his vehicle.

RCMP Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the man's wife and son were nearby and the shooting took place in an area where that's frequented by people and vehicles.

Pound called the shooting a brazen act and says it was a miracle no one else was harmed.

Police say they believe Johal was targeted in the shooting.

They're appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward and possibly prevent future murders.
