A Toronto man has been charged with first-degree murder after a man was shot dead in the city’s east end on Saturday night.

Toronto police were called to the scene of a shooting at 11 Main St., near Kingston Road, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

A 26-year-old Toronto man was found in a fifth-floor hallway, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Late Monday evening, police issued a news release identifying the victim as Cory Campbell.

A post-mortem examination determined that Campbell died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
