It's a surreal moment to watch Elton John sit at a piano and perform in a sparkly suit jacket.

But as he played his final note -- which marked the end of his concert -- the curtain fell on Fashion Cares, the HIV/AIDS fundraiser which has been around for 25 years.

It was an event that was full of glitz and glamour as well as famous celebrity and fashion faces. Video montages highlighted some of the best moments from Fashion Cares' previous events. And speeches were given by Dean and Dan Caten of DSQAURED2, 'Fashion Television' host Jeanne Beker, supermodel Linda Evangelista, John's husband David Furnish and many more.

The money raised from ticket sales will go toward the Elton John AIDS foundation and The AIDS Committee of Toronto. Past events featured zany runway shows laden with innovative costumes and bold makeup -- many of the looks were recreated last night with the help of M.A.C. Cosmetics' makeup artists.

Sunday night's showing was rounded out with stunning performances by Scissor Sisters and Janelle Monae singing the Jackson 5. The atmosphere was high and most guests were standing and dancing by the end of it.

And with John closing out the event, well, let's just say the event -- and charity -- ended on a high note.
