Forget winter: Autumn is coming, and with it comes the end of another summer of vacation and travelling.

But don't panic just yet. The days may be getting shorter, the temperature colder and the colour of leaves looking more and more like that last campfire, but there's still time. Summer doesn't come to an official end until September 22, the first day of fall.

So, as a last ditch effort to relive the glorious, albeit really hot, dog days of summer, HuffPost Travel Canada is asking you, the readers, to share with us your summer travel stories. Whether it was travelling outside to some far-off exotic destination, a two -week long cruise or something as simple as sitting on a Muskoka chair by the cottage and knocking back a few cold ones as you watch the sun set, we'd like to hear about it.

And we won't be surprised it is has something to do with being awed by nature. According to Google Canada, Niagara Falls took the top spot as the most searched travel destination on Google Maps this summer, beating out popular beaches and parks in cities like Vancouver, Toronto and Jasper.

Canada's Summer Travel Stories #sumcantravel

"Canadians love the great outdoors... and now there’s some data to back up that cliche. Most of the searches on Google Maps took Canadians outside," wrote Aaron Brindle, a rep with Google Canada. The search engine giant compiled the list by reviewing the summer search activity on Google Maps between May to September.

Now, Huffington Post Travel Canada doesn't dispute Niagara Falls' top ranking on Google, but we're adamant about hearing from Canadians on where they travelled during the Summer of 2012 (be it one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders or otherwise).

We're also suckers for nostalgia, so we're asking you to send us your photos (Instagram or digital), tweets and as always, your comments on your summer travel stories. Bonus points for a postcard. Feel free to use the hashtag #sumcantravel or tweet us directly @HPCatravel for a chance to have memories showcased and shared with the rest of Canada.
