Car shot up in Vancouver gunfire

Vancouver police say they have stopped a bullet-riddled car as part of an investigation into a shooting in the city's West End.

Several people called 911 shortly before 3 p.m. PT to report the sound of gunshots in the 1300-block of Jervis Street, said police spokesman Const. Brian Montague.

Montague said police officers arrived and located shell casings in an alley in the area.

Police also stopped a vehicle that had apparent bullet holes in it travelling over the Burrard Street Bridge. The bridge remained closed as officers conducted their investigation, Montague said.

He said early indications were that it was a targeted attack. No suspects have been identified and there were no known victims.
