Toilet Paper Dresses: Canadian Designers Turn White Cashmere Into Couture

Oh, The Fashionable Things You Can Design With Toilet Paper

We've seen a lot of things in our time following fashion.

But the annual White Cashmere fashion show has to be one of the most unique. Why? Well, for starters, the couture costumes that take to the runway are made entirely of toilet paper. And also because it's one of the few events that bring designers together to raise funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. (Vote for your favourite design and $1 will be donated to the cause.)

This year's show, which happened on Sept. 19 in Toronto, featured toilet paper outfits from 15 designers. And this year, for the first time, even the jewellery and footwear were crafted out of White and Pink Cashmere Tissue.

Designers who took part in the event included: Anomal Couture by Sonia Leclair; David Jack; Izzy Camilleri; Adrian Wu; Ashtiani by Golnaz Ashtiani; Rodney Philpott Designs; LABEL by Shawna Robinson and Natalie Sydoruk; LuShyne by Lucci Rojas; Laura Siegel; Al Shakour by Suhaila Niazi; Cara Cheung; DRōN by Joël Bissonnette; MMCrystal by Michelle Merizzi; jewelry by Karen McFarlane; and shoes designed by Yvonne Lin for Town Shoes.
