BHP's Escondida mine awards Phase 2 accommodation contract to Atco joint venture

CALGARY - A joint venture of Atco Ltd. (TSX:ACO.X) has been awarded a contract to build the second phase of a workforce accommodation project for the Escondida copper mine in northern Chile. When both phases are completed, the facility will have sleeping places for 7,700 people. Anglo-Australian mining company is the majority owner and operator of the mine, 1,200 kilometres north of Santiago, Chile. The financial terms of the contract weren't disclosed.
