As news spreads that Justin Trudeau will be entering the Liberal leadership race, here's a look at the candidates he will likely be competing against.
Prominent among them is Marc Garneau, a Liberal MP and former astronaut, who many see as Trudeau's primary competition. Garneau has not yet decided to run.
Deborah Coyne, on the other hand, has signalled she intends to run, though she has yet to fork over the $75,000 entrance fee. Coyne is the mother of Pierre Trudeau's daughter Sarah.
Liberal MP Denis Coderre, an exciting speaker in the House of Commons, has said he will either run for the leadership of the party or for mayor of Montreal. With Trudeau in the race, Coderre may choose the latter.
Other well-known prospective candidates include Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty's MP brother David, former leadership candidates Martha Hall Findlay and Gerard Kennedy and current MP Dominic LeBlanc. The party will pick a new leader at a convention in Ottawa in April of 2013.
