Music researcher named new chancellor of Newfoundland's Memorial University

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - A woman known for her work in the field of music has been appointed chancellor of Memorial University in Newfoundland.

Premier Kathy Dunderdale says Susan Knight will replace retired General Rick Hillier who resigned from the post last month.

Knight has been active in a number of capacities in choral music and music education, including as a researcher.

A graduate of Memorial University, Knight is invested in the Order of Canada and the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.
