Quebec provincial police are looking into whether something was wrong with the car a police officer was driving the night she was killed.

Katia Hadouchi, 23, died after her police cruiser crashed on Kildare Road in Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare on Sept. 26.

Police now say the Chevrolet Impala was part of a recall by General Motors.

According to the manufacturer, the suspension on some of the vehicles is problematic.

The Sûreté du Québec has pulled about 100 vehicles off the road since Thursday.

Hadouchi had worked for the SQ for two years and was alone in the car at the moment of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

At the time, SQ collision investigators said it wasn't clear whether speed had been a factor in the incident.
