NDP MP Peter Stoffer hit Rob Anders where it hurt when he addressed the Tory MP's controversial comments on Jack Layton's death.
Stoffer's insult came after Anders said NDP Leader Tom Mulcair "helped to hasten Jack Layton’s death" in an interview with iPolitics.ca released Monday.
“He would have taken more heed of his health. He might not have rushed into that election campaign with somebody with a knife in his back,” Anders said.
The comments sparked outrage on Twitter and prompted PMO director of communications Andrew MacDougall to distance Prime Minister Stephen Harper from his colleague's remarks.
Anders has since apologized to Mulcair and Layton's family, including his widow, NDP MP Olivia Chow.
Chow accepted his apology, defended Mulcair and asked everyone to disengage from Anders' theory.
Stoffer, however, was less forgiving.
"Is the guy just that stupid, or is he that stupid? I know he sleeps a lot, but I didn't realize he is also that stupid," he said. "I'd say it stronger than that, but what a dickhead."
