Rob Ford has received plenty of negative attention since being elected mayor of Toronto in 2012, but two city councillors, Giorgio Mammoliti and Gord Perks, did their part Wednesday to take some of the heat off the man in charge of Canada's largest city.
The two men almost came to blows after Mammoliti questioned whether an ombudsman's report on whether the mayor exerted undue influence regarding city appointments was politically motivated. When the speaker asked Mammoliti to apologize he refused and stormed out of the chamber.
He returned later on and was confronted by an angry Perks, who got very close to Mammoliti.
