A person is dead following a bar fight in Brome Lake, about 100 kilometres southeast of Montreal.

Police were called to the bar at around 2:25 a.m. They found a man lying behind the counter suffering from serious injuries.

He was rushed to hospital where he died.

It is unclear how many people were involved in the fight or what the motive was for the brawl.

Police investigators are investigating the matter.
