Alberta Bachelorette Mindy, Bachelorette Sandy Sent Home From The Bachelor Canada

Alberta Ladies Get The Bachelor Boot
Handout

Alberta bachelorettes took a beating during the premiere of the Bachelor Canada on Wednesday night, with two of the five Wild Rose ladies not getting a rose.

Aspiring funeral director/embalmer Mindy, from Rocky Mountain House, didn't connect with professional football player and Canada’s first bachelor Brad Smith. The adventurer-loving, outdoorsy Mindy rather than getting a rose, got a ticket home instead.

But it wasn’t all heartbreak for cocktail dress/hikers-combo-wearing Mindy.

“I was really hoping that when I saw him sparks would fly,” she told bachelorcanada.ca.

“I enjoyed the party, but I really had no feelings for Brad, so I wasn’t surprised I didn’t make the cut.”

As for Sandy, she’s reaching for the snacks.

“Bring on the popcorn and let’s see how this fairytale ends,” she told bachelorcanada.ca.

But still in the running is the Alberta gamut.

One one end is Sylvan Lake’s own bubbly pastor – that’s right, this contestant has God on her side – Chantelle. She admits she’s out of her depth when it comes to navigating the turbulent waters of romance and spent most of the first episode giggling.

On the other end, is the driven, determined, winning-obsessed Calgary executive assistant with the pipes Whitney. She’s made it quite clear Smith is as good as hers, and the attitude may be working, as she received the first rose of the season and is already making fevered enemies.

And, right in the middle, is Calgary oil patch administrator Michelle V. She’s not as in-your-face as Whitney and nowhere as bubbly as Chantelle but she is sweet. Love them Alberta girls.
