Two suspects are in being held in police custody after a carjacking at gunpoint at Burnaby’s Metrotown Centre Sunday afternoon. Insp. Davis Wendell with the Lower Mainland District RCMP says a patrol officer recognized the stolen car.

"When he activated his emergency equipment in his police car, the vehicle fled and very, very quickly — just a few seconds later — collided with a civilian vehicle, which subsequently was pushed into a police vehicle which was blocking an intersection."

Wendell says no one was injured in the collision.
